More than two years ago, I discarded my first digital camera, a Konica 3.2-megapixel beast, that became too cumbersome for a traveller. Last week, it fell out of the cupboard into my hands in a tidy up, just as I was bemoaning the poor macro capabilities of my 20.2-megapixel Sony in capturing the spring flowering. I recharged the batteries (had to borrow a recharger: mine failed to drop out of the cupboard into my hand) and this morning I went off with them both slung about my neck for a battle of the cameras. The old Konica won, hands down. Once again I'm capturing the tiny. Once again the background stops drawing all the attention. Once again I have a viewfinder instead of a screen invisible in sunlight. Here is the harvest. Not quite perfect … Yet.
