I know I’ve posted photos of spotted gum bark before, but the palette is different this time. These trees are just outside the front door of the place where I spend weekends, and the place where my children grew up. Children and trees are a lot older now, and both display ever-changing beauties.

Beautiful Meg, it could also be in WP photo challenge “serene” that is the feeling I always get walking among these trees.

Go away! I’m trying to avoid a challenge addiction, amongst my many others. Mind you, I can think of a number of contenders for serene. Go away!

It’s only just occurred to me that this post could have done multicoloured too. Maybe your theme got into my brain subliminally when I was scheduling posts.

There’s a warmth to them that English trees don’t have. Seeped in down the years, I imagine.
You’ll be ready to switch to your Warsaw posting soon, Meg? Bet you’re excited to see the little ones again. Safe journey and hugs all round in case we don’t speak again 🙂

I’m scheduling the changeover for Wednesday, I think. I may have a post or two left, before I depart snippets. Thank you for good journey wishes. Thought I was angst free, but then I realised I have to charge my mobile when I arrive, so I can ring my host. That’s worth a few sleepless moments! And I’m terrified of taking a cold with me.

Mmmmmm. Maybe not quite. A northern autumn is spectacular. I first saw Warsaw in autumn, and flying in was gold and orange.

I’m glad you can’t get enough, because there’ll probably be more. Nature is lavish in her variety.

How gorgeous. I love the first photo of the trees in the mist.

It’s a real treat to walk up the corridor when it’s raining and see this view framed by the front door. We moved her 40 years ago – the trees must have been considerably smaller then.

How wonderful to have such a long relationship with a place. My gypsy life has led me to me many different places – sometimes I miss the sense of rootedness
