You forget, we had a wonderful dog when I was growing up, much loved and mourned to this day. And over the years, I have had many canine friends. On their passing I have mourned with their owners.
She loved going for long walks in the bush near our house. She was so loyal and protective of the family that my parents never worried if she was with me. You obviously love the company of Cruz.
Sighing for the dog? Or the beach? Or both? There were two other dogs on the beach, and a cluster of surfers at the far end – crowded by our standards.
For the beach, though I have considered getting another dog. But maybe not just yet, they need walking and caring for 24/7 and I’m still not done with travelling. Maybe in 10 years time š
I wasn’t a dog person until I lived up close to my son’s two dogs. I still wouldn’t risk sole care of a dog, but he was one of my weekend pleasures, sharing the lounge (and the bed) with his head in my lap. Your weekend wishes were responsible for my pleasure in the dog!
I love dogs and my children grew up with the most loving one, as I did too. But I also love cats, maybe one day I’ll have both together! I’m so glad you had fun with this one š

I am sorry. I do remember your dog, very clearly, from Turramurra days.

I do love the company of Cruz – but not his overwhelming legacy of shed hair!
