En route to find orchids, I stumbled across the site of a recent oyster feast just off the road into my village. I photographed it once in the early morning light, and returned at midday when Sue prompted me to think about light. So let’s say I broke up my 5 minutes into 3+2, although to be honest it was probably longer. Then I submitted most of the images to Snapseed Structure until I got a satisfactory opalescent effect.
This is my contribution to DesleyJane’s RegularRandom, which has become addictive. This week she features closed tulips in all their glory: a nice counter to my opened oysters!
You photos make them look so good – I only wish I liked them! I really wish I could eat them, but no. Mussels, clams, even winkles, but not oysters. I quite like them cooked. But what lovely shells you came across.

Without this challenge of DJ’s I wonder if I’d have noticed them.

Teehee, glad I got you thinking!

You often do. Often the thoughts are too technical to act on but they get thought.

Oh, goodness…sorry about the technical

Don’t be. I’m just lazy.

OK, if you say so! I don’t think you are, as you try to expand your knowledge in areas that interest you!

They’re the colour of silk, I want to know who’s eaten them and are you tempted to harvest some yourself?

Not a great oyster fan. I’d like to know who ate them too. Was it one person??? I’d like to imagine it was one of the itinerants who occasionally park their vans nearby having a rare poached feast. I like the connection of hard sharp oyster shells with silk: they do have that delicacy. Your skill with comparison is enviable.

I’ve been mucking around all week trying to get a good series of shots of my irises. It’s harder than I thought it would be. My photos don ‘t look anywhere near as good as the real thing. I have followed the blog though and will keep trying. The concept intrigues me.

I wonder what intrigues you. For me, it’s the sharp focus on one thing, and the brief time. My eyes notice things differently with the challenge at the back of my mind, as they do with your “on the road” prompts – but they take more work

I liked the idea of taking a number of photos of the same thing from different angles over a short period of time. I haven’t done the challenge enough to be more specific than that š
