This post is for Sue, who inspired me to go for light.
One day my first mini-walk was at 7am, considerably later than usual. There was a huge bonus. The sun was above the bank of clouds that seem to be a feature of sunrise lately, falling beautifully on the flowers and leaves of the hibiscus in a neighbour’s front yard. One of my photographic intentions for the year is to make greater use of light, to notice the way it falls as I prowl around, and to capture it as it illuminates small pieces of my world.
Linked to DJ’s spectacular RegularRandom, this week sliced fruit as you’ve never seen it before.
I like the warmth of the first few, they seem more natural, either way they’re beautiful and I wish they were hanging over my garden wall 🙂

I’d send them to you if I could, but they mightn’t take kindly to snow – is it reaching you?

Light and shade, captured beautifully.

Beautiful Meg and, like in painting, to put light against very dark makes the whole image pop. I am still too tentative with my darks in painting.

Hello there! I depend on nature to provide my light: I don’t have to do anything except snap it.

But you have to have an eye for it too

The first set has a warmer light, the second much colder. I prefer the sunny ones, but that is one very pretty pink hibiscus when all said and done.

Two different cameras, so not quite a fair comparison. The second lot seems to capture texture better – may be.

The first images, with the morning light and the shadows are lovely, Meg. We’ll get you addicted to light yet ! And thanks for dedicating this post to me 😊😊

Oh, I’m addicted to light all right! Just not very good at creating it, as you do.

Whilst my eyes are less good than they used to be, I ‘see’ better than I did! And act on what I notice

I think I’m drawn more to the earlier set. But the whole enterprise is gorgeous.

And they’re still flowering a good month later.
