This morning, cool 7 am air tempted me out for a morning beachwalk. The temptation was strengthened by a looming deadline for a piece of writing I’ve know about for a year: I’m the matriarch of procrastination. I’ve had my iPhone since November and have only just begun to use it, thanks to the tutelage of the Tamborine mob (more procrastination.)

Intrigued by the writing, Meg π Will we see some evidence of it?
Since my Nokia drowned I’ve played about a little bit with my Samsung mini but I could use any tips you have. Are you going to start Instagram-ing?

Get the behind me. NO instagramming. I’m getting email tips from a site that includes this video – a bit slow, but some excellent tips and photos. The same site has a lot more.

The writing? I’ll post eventually. It’s a couple of pieces for a family history publication. Today’s job is getting 2500 precious words to become 800. Wish me luck! At least I can blog the whole 2500.

Sea weed it is. Usually the gleam defeats me but this was OK. Now I need to go and reduce 3500 words, not of which are not worth while (they’re my great uncle’s, not mine), to 800. That could well defeat me!

Those photos are nice and sharp Meg. I find I cannot hold the phone steady enough and the photos I took came out blurry, but then I only have the iPhone 4 and it has a very basic camera function. So I prefer my lovely Cannon sx40 with image stabiliser. I must admit I am tempted to get a better iPhone, now the new ones are out the previous model may be a better price…

I think mine’s only a 4 – where’s my grandson when I need him? He knows! I’ve just ditched my old mobile number – I’ve had the phone since 1998 – so I’m now committed to the iPhone.

Well now, they don’t look at all bad do they? I refuse to get an i-phone (I get irritated by apple fanatics) or even a smart-phone mainly because I don’t use a phone often enough to warrant the expense, but some day I shall need to replace my old Nokia as the battery is dying…

I’ve had my mobile since 1997. I got the iPhone for its portability, and my son had to overcome his apple aversion to get it for me. For me, it’s easy to use, because it’s really a mini mini iPad, and you know my relationship with my iPad! My granddaughter’s photos in the museum in Brisbane ran rings round mine – although she has a quirky eye too.

I like the golden leaves in the second shot. I find mobile phone camera can often highlight colours a regular camera misses.

I’m looking forward to playing a bit, although I can’t hang it around my neck and tie it safely and undroppably to its case.
