J turns 70 the day I return from Melbourne. There is no time, nor are there ingredients, to cook up a storm, so I call in to buy a celebratory picnic from the cafe en route to his place, Blue Earth. While I’m waiting, I perch on a stool and peer around. The knots in the timber bench catch my eye, so out comes the iPhone.
If you fancy 5 minutes with dumplings have a look here, where the host of this weekly challenge delays eating in the service of photography.

Love that knotty bench…stopping and taking notice of what is around us is most rewarding! I notice far more now I have slowed down big time…

All that beauty long after it was a living growing entity. Isn’t it amazing what we find when we really look? I must join this challenge, it’s right up my street.

It is right up your street. I suffer withdrawal if DJ doesn’t post, although I only have one in reserve now.
We find things too when we stop – I’d never have noticed if I hadn’t had to wait
